Postdigital or Bust? Tony Reeves & Laura Lee
What does ‘postdigital’ mean in relation to music? Is all modern music postdigital? And is sampling still a creative practice? These are just some of the questions that formed the basis of this A.R.C discussion at the University for the Creative Arts. Laura Lee and Dr. Tony Reeves will explore the impact of postdigital on music and the musicians who explore it both consciously and unconsciously. Pivoting around Kim Cascone’s seminal article which first coined the term postdigital, the debate will examine the restrictions of genre boundaries, and consider how a postdigital perspective can enable us to achieve a deeper level of creativity.
